Various interviews on ecology and youth

Today a pretty special video on ecology. To know a little more about this subject I interviewed different people, precisely 6 in number, who will honestly give their opinion and thoughts on this theme.

A 12-year-old child, a 20-year-old student or an adult over 40, we will see through this video the various perceptions and arguments that these people hold.

In this video, 9 questions will be asked to the interlocutors to deepen this point and draw conclusions.

I wish you a good viewing!

Part 2

Transcribed interviews of a young self-employed

Since the 2020 confinement, auto-entrepreneurs have experienced a huge boom, especially among young people. Opening a business has become something trivial. We met Farès BK. Farès opened his company specializing in transport a few months ago. He is one of the many subcontractors of Amazon or GLS. We had the opportunity to ask him a few questions. I had the opportunity to meet an auto-entrepreneur who has a company in Transport. I was able to challenge him on ecological issues.

Iliana was able to speak with Mr. BK:

LJE: Could you please introduce yourself?

Mr.BK: My name is Farès, I am 23 years old. I have a business in transport for almost 1 year. I transport goods under 3 tons 5.

LJE: Can you tell us about your business in a little more detail?

Mr.BK: It is a freight forwarding company. As I told you, I transport goods that do not exceed 3 tons 5, but more precisely specialized in the courier service, the transport of parcels.

LJE: Do you consume a lot of energy?

Mr.BK: Yeah frankly a lot, especially diesel.

LJE: How many fill-ups do you use per month?

Mr.BK: By truck I put 100€ of gasoline every 3 days.

LJE: And how many trucks do you have?

Mr.BK: Eight.

LJE: are you interested in ecology?

Mr.BK: Yes it is a hot topic.

LJE: And what do you get information about?

Mr.BK: On ecological advancement, I try to consume less. It hurts the planet

LJE: And what are you doing for ecology?

Mr.BK: From a personal point of view I try not to throw things on the ground, to have an economical driving style. Put on the heating only when necessary to avoid over-consumption. Air conditioning the same. When there are several types of bins, I sort the waste. Afterwards, there are things I have to consume a lot.

LJE: What do you think of the actions that environmentalists are doing at the moment?

Mr.BK: I think it's stupid, they break our heads. I think these are actions that are not appropriate for debate. I think the best way to make people aware is to talk with numbers and with statistics. I think the actions carried out in recent weeks are completely off topic and people who are not interested in the basic subject are not going to make them want to be interested in what is actually happening._cc781905-5cde-3194- bb3b-136bad5cf58d_

LJE: Do you think the government should take other measures regarding the environment?

Mr.BK: Already, at first all the speed limit measures etc… it is useless. In the metropolises anyway. With traffic jams, the cars are stationary, so the engine is necessarily running, so we emit even more CO2. Then in the other measures the increase in the price of gasoline. Although it was initially an economic measure, I think they also tried to raise the price of gasoline with an ecological measure, so that people take their cars less. But that doesn't change anything because there are still so many people even with the gasoline shortages that there have been.

LJE: Do you feel concerned by ecological movements.

Mr.BK: Well, not really concerned?

LJE: Are you thinking of joining their action?

Mr.BK: No.

LJE: Do you think you will one day be part of an ecological association?

Mr.BK: I feel concerned by the ecological movement but not in its entirety. Their way of acting, I would not have acted the same.

LJE: Do you think it's good that young people are more and more interested in ecology?

Mr.BK: Yes it's serious good, I think we should be more concerned than our parents because they no longer reflect the future. I think you just have to look at the names of members in the different parties, different ecological associations. It must have increased it for the last 10,20 or 30 years.

LJE: Do you take ecological measures for your business?

Mr.BK: I'm thinking of going electric.

LJE: And on a personal level, do people around you take ecological initiatives?

Mr.BK: A bit of selective sorting.

LJE: Do you buy in bulk? Avoid buying fast-fashion?

Mr.BK: So no, we don't buy in bulk. But what is fast fashion? Shein?

LJE: Yes, but not only, there is also Zara, Bershka...

Mr.BK: No, I admit that the clothes I still have trouble.

LJE: Ok, one last question. At the end of the year, will du be obliged to pay a carbon tax or not?

Mr.BK: Not this year, but next year yes!

LJE: Ok, we're done, thank you!

Mr.BK: Thank you it was cool
